For many years the region has been cooperating with organizations and companies of Minsk.
The Luban region has close partnership ties with regions of Russia. The region has concluded long-term cooperation agreements in trade and economy sector, R&D and culture with the Gatchina region in the Leningrad oblast, Pavlovo-Posad in the Moscow oblast and Nekrasovo region from the Yaroslavl oblast.
The region has been adopting dairy husbandry high technologies which are used in the Leningrad region. Within the framework of the agreement between the Luban regional executive committee and the Yaroslavl region, the Gatchina region of the Leningrad oblast receive children for health improvement.
In 2005, the Luban region signed a cooperation agreement with the Nizhny Novgorod region and established close ties with the representative office of the Nizhny Novgorod region in Belarus in different fields.
In 2003 the region started international youth exchange, which involves such countries as Denmark, Great Britain, Austria, Finland, Russia and Belarus.
